Brondell Swash 1000 Bidet Review

Brondell S1000-EW Swash 1000 Advanced Bidet Elongated Toilet Seat, White

I’ve always wanted a bidet since first learning what one was.

When I moved into my first home, I decided to go with the Brondell Swash 1000.

I’ve had it now for a little over a year, and this review while be about my personal experiences with the product and a highlight of the features that have been most beneficial for me thus far.

Now with that out of the way, let’s jump right into the review!

  1. You can control the temperature of the water so that you never have to worry about your delicate parts being sprayed with cold water!
  2. It has a seat warmer! After getting used to sitting on a heated toilet seat, you likely won’t ever want to go back to sitting on a cold seat again; I know that I haven’t!
  3. You can actually get thoroughly clean after using the bathroom! With just using toilet paper, most if not all people have had those moments of surprise when you didn’t wipe as well as you thought you did. Unless you just get up from the seat too early, this is highly unlikely to ever happen with this bidet!
  4. It has a built-in drying feature!
  5. It has a self-cleaning feature for the nozzles!
  6. The seat itself is sturdy enough to sit on with the lid down! I’ve sat down on mine with the lid down on several occasions and have had no ill effects!
  7. It comes with a remote control for easy access!
  8. There are controls on the side of the seat just in case the batteries run down in the remote or if it is lost.
  9. The seat is pressure-sensitive, so the bidet features only work if a person is sitting on the seat! This can prevent big messes if you have little ones that might get to the remote or the controls on the side of the bidet.
  10. It is easy to remove the seat and reattach it! This is useful if you need to get underneath the seat for cleaning!
  11. This is one of the only 2 bidets on the market, that I know of at least, that is designed to fit just about all toilets, even specialty ones! This can be a defining factor if other bidet brands and models won’t fit on your toilet. This was one of the reasons that I went with this model!
  12. It has an Economy mode that saves energy! I leave mine on this mode all the time and have not seen a spike in my energy costs!
  13. It has a feminine wash setting! I love this feature for obvious reasons, but it really adds to the value and benefits of the product since men and women were both considered when designing it!

  1. The bidet must be plugged in to work. I was remodeling this house when I had my bidet installed, so this wasn’t a problem for me. For some though, this might be an issue if your bathroom doesn’t have an outlet that can be used for it. I had a GFCI power outlet installed specifically for it.
  2. You could be potentially trading in the savings of not having to use toilet paper for a larger water bill. As of right now, I am single and live alone, so my water bill is hardly ever above $35 a month even with the bidet. For those with several people living with them or those with large families, you might run into an increased water bill if you already use a lot of water!
  3. It’s an investment! The Brondell Swash 1000 is not cheap! I was fortunate to find mine on a Black Friday deal when I bought it last year, but it still ended up costing me a pretty penny! You’ll need to decide if the hygiene and convenience benefits are worth the investment for you and your loved ones. It certainly was for me!
  4. It can take a while for the nozzle to start to shoot out water sometimes. From my experience with this bidet, there is sometimes a 15+ second delay between when the nozzle comes out and when the water starts to shoot out. This isn’t always a problem, but if you’re in a hurry, every second can count!
  5. The built-in dryer might not get you totally dry! It’s nice to have this feature, but the dryer isn’t the strongest. To get completely dry, you would need to wait for however long it took for you to get dry, use some tissue to dry off, or use a cloth or something else to dry yourself. From my experience, even on those few occasions that I have to use toilet paper to dry off, it’s not nearly as much as I used to use, so it’s not that big of a deal.

Bottom Line

The bottom line is that the Brondell Swash 1000 is one of the best bidets on the market today!

If you want a bidet that has a plethora of the available bells and whistles, you really can’t go wrong with this model.

That being said, it is an investment. If your budget and needs allow for it, I highly recommend the Brondell Swash 1000 for anyone in the market for a bidet!

Dead Sea Mud Mask Review

Dead Sea Mud Mask Review

I decided to give the Dead Sea Mud Mask a try because I was looking for a product that would help with clearing up my complexion, reduce and eliminate acne, and help reduce my prior acne scars.

Here are my results thus far of using this for 2 ½ months of using it once a week.

  1. It has really helped with toning my complexion a bit. The results having been phenomenal yet, but I can definitely tell a difference in my skin from the start all the way to now.
  2. I’ve a reduction in my acne and have had far less breakouts!
  3. For me at least, I don’t need to use a lot of the product, so this will last me for a long time.
  4. It works great for hydrating dry skin!
  5. It is safe to use on sensitive skin. I have very sensitive skin and have had no adverse reactions to it whatsoever!

  1. The results are very gradual; you would have to be patient and give it enough time before seeing noticeable results. Those looking for instant results should look elsewhere.

Bottom Line

With continued use, you likely will see results, so Dead Sea Mud Mask is definitely worth the money!

Bamboo Charcoal Soap Review

Bamboo Charcoal Soap Review

I was looking for a new soap that could help with getting rid of blemishes and acne scars, and I stumbled upon Bamboo Charcoal Soap.

It’s supposed to be really good for clearing up acne and lightening up old acne scars.

It’s also said to be good for sensitive skin, which is something EXTREMELY important to me. Given those claims, I decided to give it a try, and here are the results!

I’m not exaggerating when I say that Bamboo Charcoal Soap has given me the best results of any facial cleanser that I’ve ever used!

I have extremely sensitive skin, so I have to be careful of what I put on my face.

My skin is also combination normal and oily, which really doesn’t help the situation!

This soap not only cleared up my previous breakouts, it is also lightening up my old acne scars.

This is the only soap that did both of these things without causing more damage to my skin by being too strong.

Bamboo Charcoal Soap has a very mild and fresh scent to it. This perhaps contributes to how gentle it is on sensitive skin.

Bottom Line

This is the best soap that I’ve ever tried on my face!

It doesn’t aggravate my sensitive skin, it’s clearing up my acne, and it is fading my old acne scars!

What more can I ask for?!

African Black Soap Review

African Black Soap Review

I have EXTREMELY sensitive skin and have been looking for a facial soap that wouldn’t inflame or irritate my skin.

So I started looking for soaps for sensitive skin, and that’s when I discovered African Black Soap.

I’ve used this soap in the past, but only on my body and not on my face.

After doing some research, I found out that African Black Soap is great for sensitive skin and that it can help clear up blemishes.

I decided to give it a try as a facial soap, and here’s how it turned out.

Overall, it was very decent on my face.

It didn’t inflame my skin any further, and I noticed that my prior breakouts started to diminish!

This was the only soap that I used while I was testing it out, and I used it twice a day.

Another problem with my skin is that I have some acne scars that were left behind from previous breakouts.

The African Black Soap didn’t seem to do much for the old scars, but it did help with preventing new scars from forming.

There are many brands of African Black Soap on the market, but the one that I always get is from this particular eBay seller.

The smell of this particular brand is intoxicating, and it’s one of the few fragrances that smells good on both men and women without coming off as too masculine or too feminine in my opinion.

I haven’t tried any of the ones that look more like mud or dirt.

Those are said to be in its raw state and could possibly have more benefits to the skin than the one that I’m reviewing, but I can’t say for certain.

The look of those particular ones is very off-putting to me, and that’s why I’ve never tried any of them.

Bottom Line

The bottom line here is that African Black Soap can be a great choice pretty much for all skin types, including sensitive skin.

The only drawback that I had with it is that it didn’t help much with getting rid of previous acne scars.

That being said, if you’re looking for some good soap that also smells good, I definitely recommend this soap, and that’s especially true if you have sensitive skin!

Virtuous Ruby is Here to Stay!

I released a YouTube video last week stating that I was planning to change the name of my website from to and the name of my YouTube channel from Virtuous Ruby to just my name, Savannah Kirby. I did make those changes for a few days. Then I got a comment on the video from a subscriber and friend who said that they liked the name and wished that I would keep it.

She made me realize that deep down, I missed it too. I was just so focused on trying to grow my website and YouTube channel that I almost made a huge mistake! The name Virtuous Ruby means a great deal to me.

The name comes from Proverbs 31 from the Bible, specifically verses 10 – 31. My daddy introduced these scriptures to me when I was 10 years old. I was talking to him about this boy in class that liked me. The boy was asking if I would be his girlfriend, and I could tell that he wanted more than just a hug or kiss on the cheek even at that young age! When I came to my daddy with this, he didn’t overreact or get mad. He just went to the Bible and read Proverbs 31 verse 10 to me. He said that if the Lord believes that I’m worth more than rubies or pearls, then I shouldn’t sell myself short for some little knucklehead boy.

That was a pivotal moment in my life. After reading just that one scripture back when I was 10 years old, I knew my worth and value as a lady of God. It also meant more to me because it was my father who showed this to me. It showed that he believed that I was precious and that I shouldn’t give myself to any man who isn’t willing to give me all of him in return.

Being a virtuous lady of God is my calling, and I’ve been holding true to that ever since that day. That’s why the name Virtuous Ruby is so meaningful to me. It might not be the SEO-friendly name or the easiest for others to spell, but if others are really seeking my type of message or one of my stories, they’ll find me! I won’t change the name of this site again; I’ll just get a new domain entirely and keep this one if the situation ever called for it.

Moving forward, I’m going to do all that I can to not lose sight of myself like that ever again.  Virtuous Ruby is here to stay; share it with your friends and family!

Night Club Fail

The look on my face in the picture says it all. I look like I’m bored out of my mind and that I’d rather be any place but where I was at the time. Sorry for the poor image quality, but that I was picture that I took of myself while at a club. Let me explain the story behind it.

One night, I went out with my best friend and her fiancé. We got some dinner, and then they decided to go to a club afterwards. I rode with them, so I was just going with the flow. I won’t mention the club’s name, but it was in Birmingham, AL, and it was supposed to be a pretty nice one.

When we got there we had to wait for it to open, and while we were waiting they played some R&B. I love R&B, so I was thinking that we’d have a good time. When we finally did get to go inside, all they played was trap music. I was like, “What?” It pretty much felt like a bait and switch. I don’t like trap music at all! I was just sitting there, waiting and hoping that they’d play something that I would want to dance to. Long story short, they never did!

Just a bit after I took that selfie, I decided that if I wasn’t going to be able to dance that night, I might as well try to make use of my time. That’s when I pulled up the web browser on my phone, went to my university’s website, logged in, and then started to do some homework. After a while, my best friend asked me what I was doing, and I showed her. She was like, “Really? You’re doing homework at the club?” I said, “Well I’m bored, and it’s not like I’ve got anything else to do right now.” She told me to show her fiancé. I showed him my phone, and he just stared at me with a bewildered look.

Needless to say, I didn’t have fun at all at that club. We did stop at another club on the way home, and we ended up having a much better time there. They didn’t play any trap music.

Well that is my story for today. I HATE being bored and will do what it takes to entertain myself. Thank you for dropping by, and I hope to see you again soon! Bye for now!
